R. Bruce Kershner is owner and President of the R. Bruce Kershner Company, Longwood, Florida, which specializes in Association Management and Governmental Relations. Presently Mr. Kershner represents several construction based trade groups.
Mr. Kershner has been the Governmental Affairs Director for UPSA since 2007. He represents UPSA before the Florida Legislature and Executive Branch agencies (i.e., Department of Health (DOH), Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR), Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB), Etc.) concerning matters relating to professional regulation, regulatory issues and administrative law.
Mr. Kershner actively monitors the various state agencies and departments including DBPR. Mr. Kershner has been instrumental in the development of rules at the CILB including several of the State Certified Specialty Contractors categories. Mr. Kershner is an approved CILB Course Provider and has several approved construction related courses.
Mr. Kershner has been involved in the construction industry since 1969. He holds a State Certified Underground Utility Contractor license, a State Certified Residential Contractors license, an Orange County Class A Certificate of Competency for Underground Utilities and is Certified by the Florida Department of Education as a Vocational Instructor and is a Registered Lobbyist in Tallahassee.
As a contractor, he has held various positions and is versed in administration and engineering. Mr. Kershner has been involved in many major construction projects in Florida including the Contemporary Hotel at Walt Disney World, and other major project involving DOT, water/wastewater treatment plants, etc.
